Author Events for your School, Library, Bookshop, Festival.....

Ella Burfoot lives and works in Dorset and has held author events and workshops for children within primary schools, libraries and literary festivals. Offering readings and storytelling sessions for KS1 and 2, Ella’s approach is relaxed but structured, and the marvellous ‘story bowl’ allows children to create their very own story to illustrate.

For younger children we delve in to the world of Yetis, following Betty and the Yeti through costume and verse to discover that everyone is different, things are not always as they seem, and sometimes we all need a friend to hold our hand.

“We loved having Ella come to visit our classes! She brought the right mix of storytelling, idea sharing and fun discussion to our day. Ella was very mindful of our topic and could tailor the sessions to suit that with exciting resources. The children loved working with Ella and could bounce their ideas around with her easily. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning with her and hope to work with her again very soon!”

Emily Stiles, Year 1 leader, Chickerell Primary Academy. 2014

"Your sessions really did inspire the children, and I believe that the outcomes of their work were much higher as a result. We looked especially at the outcomes of the lower ability children and the impact of your visits on their writing and I believe that they wrote some really high quality work as a result of being inspired by you, so again, thank you."

Miss E Clements, Year 4 teacher, Pokesdown Primary School 2015

"Ella was personable and motivational for the children. A strong inspiration for future storytelling."

Mr G Martell, Hapton Primary Federation, Norfolk 2016
